Flag Football

The intramural co-ed flag football program is back for grades 2nd – 8th. Flag Football is a non-contact sport full of fun and excitement. The fall season runs from September-October. Games will be on Friday nights, Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings. Kickoff for the season will be on Friday, September 6th. Registration is OPEN NOW and closes 8/31/19.

If you have any questions contact Sean Neary at [email protected].

Soccer

In addition to CYO Fall Soccer (grades 1st – 8th) which is accepting late registrants, the Holy Redeemer Kindergarten and Nursery School Soccer Program will run on Saturday mornings for approximately five weeks on the turf field. The first session will be on September 7th and will end on October 19th. There is no session on October 12th for Columbus weekend. Holy Redeemer parish children who attend any kindergarten or 4-year old nursery school program are welcome to participate. Registration will be online through SportsPilot – use the link on the HR Athletics site. New users should create an account.

CYO Cross Country

Cross country season is almost here! If you’ve run with us before, you already know what a great, undiscovered sport it is; if you’re curious about it, we encourage you to try it out and challenge yourself in a new way! The team encompasses ages 6-14. (WE NEED MORE 6th, 7th, and 8th GRADE RUNNERS IN ORDER TO BE COMPETITIVE FOR THE CYO TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS). Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:15 at and around Holy Redeemer. Meets are on Sunday afternoons, so they don’t conflict with CYO soccer. We encourage runners of all abilities to give this sport a try — cross country will build teamwork, character, and improve your conditioning for other sports, like lacrosse and soccer. Come out, try a week, run a race — we guarantee you’ll be hooked. The first organizational meeting and practice will be on September 3rd at 6:15 pm at Holy Redeemer’s lower field. Parents’ help/participation is always appreciated either at practices or meets — especially for corralling our younger runners! You can sign up at https://www.hrathletics.com/.

Send any questions to Grant Bonavia ([email protected]); Catherine Schkoda ([email protected]) or Mark Toner at [email protected].

FIELD REQUESTS

Need to be in by 8/18. Times out by 8/27.
Non CYO times will be assigned around 9/7

Virtus Training: Protecting God’s Children for Adults

Protecting God’s Children is the mandatory child protection training for all Archdiocese of Washington volunteers who have substantial contact with children. All coaches for all sports need to take this training, with the exception of high school students under 18 years of age.
