2018 Fall Sports Guide

GUIDE TO FALL SPORTS

Holy Redeemer offers a number of fall sports to Holy Redeemer parish families, many of which are in the registration stage.  All registrations are handled online using the SportsPilot system. To register, visit http://www.hrathletics.com – click on the “Register” tab, on the drop down menu click on SportsPilot.

Flag Football

The intramural co-ed flag football program is back for grades 2nd – 8th.  Flag Football is a non-contact sport full of fun and excitement. The fall season runs from September-October. Games will be on Friday nights, Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings.  Kickoff for the season will be on Friday, September 7th.  Registration closes 8/31/18.  If you have any questions contact Sean Neary at [email protected].

Soccer

In addition to CYO Fall Soccer (grades 1st – 8th) which is accepting late registrants, the Holy Redeemer Kindergarten and Nursery School Soccer Program will run on Saturday mornings for approximately five weeks on the turf field.  The first session will be on September 8th and will end on October 20th.  There is no session on October 6th for Columbus weekend. Holy Redeemer parish children who attend any kindergarten or 4-year old nursery school program are welcome to participate. Registration will be online through SportsPilot – use the link on the HR Athletics site.  New users should create an account. If you have any questions contact Gabe Albornoz at [email protected].

Cross Country

Are you the next Galen Rupp or Desiree Linden? Or just looking to challenge yourself, discover a new sport, and enjoy the autumn weather? The HR cross country program is now entering its 8th season.  The program has produced some excellent runners over the years, many who have gone on to run at the high school level. The team encompasses grades Kindergarten – 8th grades (NOTE: WE NEED MORE 6th, 7th, and 8th GRADE RUNNERS IN ORDER TO COMPETE AS A TEAM!).  Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:15 at and around Holy Redeemer.  Meets are on Sundays, so they don’t conflict with CYO soccer games.  We encourage runners of all abilities to give this sport a try — cross country will build teamwork, character, and improve your conditioning for other sports, like lacrosse and soccer.  Come out, try a week, run a race — we guarantee you’ll be hooked.  The first organizational meeting and practice will be on September 4th at 6:15 pm at Holy Redeemer’s lower field. Parents’ help/participation is always appreciated either at practices or meets — especially for corralling our younger runners! Questions or concerns may be addressed to Grant Bonavia at [email protected] or Mark Toner at [email protected].
