GUIDE TO FALL SPORTS

Holy Redeemer offers a number of fall sports, many of which are in the registration stage.  All signups are handled online using the SportsPilot system.  The link for SportsPilot registration is in the upper right of the HR Athletics home page – https://www.hrathletics.com.  More information for each of these programs is posted on the HR Athletics website.

Cross Country

HR has a burgeoning cross country program for grades 1-8.  Practices are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:15 at and around Holy Redeemer.  The first organizational meeting and practice will be on September 6th at 6:15 pm at Holy Redeemer’s lower field.  Parents’ help/participation is always welcome either at practices or meets. Flag Football

The intramural co-ed flag football program is back for grades 2-8.  Games will be on Friday nights, Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings.  Kickoff for the season will be on Friday, September 9th. Registration closes 8/31/16.   If you have any questions contact Sean Neary at[email protected].

Soccer

In addition to CYO Fall Soccer (grades 1-8) which is accepting late registrants, the Holy RedeemerKindergarten and Nursery School Soccer Program will run on Saturday mornings for approximately five weeks on the turf field.  The first session will be on September 10th and will end on October 22ndHoly Redeemer parish children who attend any kindergarten or 4-year old nursery school program are welcome to participate.  Registration will be online through Sports Pilot – use the link on the HRAthletics site and new users should create an account.  The 4-year olds will practice from 9:00am to 10:00am and the kindergartners will also play from 9:00 am to 10:00 am but they will be run separately.  If you have any questions contact Gabe Albornoz at [email protected].

OTHER HRAC NEWS

Virtus Training:  Protecting God’s Children for Adults

Protecting God’s Children is the mandatory child protection training for all Archdiocese of Washington volunteers who have substantial contact with children.  All coaches for all sports need to take this training, with the exception of high school students under 18 years of age. Coaches/Volunteers are only required to take this course ONE TIME and it covers you forever for both coaching and volunteering at HR.
